More on WY winter 2023

Won't it happen at the Commission meeting scheduled for April 17-18? That's only 2 weeks.
The regulations will be presented to the commission at that meeting. This winter is unprecedented so I wouldn't expect the process to be smooth. I don't expect the public to have final numbers until the week of April 24th but I could be wrong. I do know not everyone is in agreement at this time but maybe that will all be settled by the meeting?

Anyone listen in on the Rawlins town hall meeting about this? I saw it was delayed and maybe went virtual ironically because of the weather, but wasn’t it supposed to be tonight?

Yeah I listened on Zoom. Interesting meeting, lots of people asking for a lot more reductions in deer and antelope licenses.

They have said... even at the official meeting, there could be further reductions made after official seasons are set, once winter kill data is truly known... this winter is making 16/17' look like nothing... another foot of snow last night in my driveway... going to have to use a skid steer and blower this weekend to get to my horse trailer.. never thought id be snowblowing 4ft this time of year

Yes, it looks like it varies by quite a bit. 59 for Casper, with 30 mph winds. Even though that's not in the 70s I'd think it would sure help to melt a lot of snow.
The snow in casper is going to melt off fast, but we’re not exactly critical winter range either

Well the point is it's going to be warmer all over Wyoming next week. How about 55 in Lander, 50 in Rawlins, 48 in Rock Springs, 57 in Saratoga, 70 in Sheridan, 73 in Greybull, 66 in Gillette.

Very true! Hopefully it stays that way

Yup. Just browsed. My elk tag numbers didn’t budge this time. Fingers crossed.

Some deer shifted and some didn’t. Complexing analysis to say the least when the two deer areas border each other.

Exactly. That one is a head scratcher for sure. Same deer herd...different rules
