More aftermarket for Tikka's

I'm not sure what's to be gained here rather than just send in to Douglas for a rebarrel for around the same cost ? Am I missing something ?

What is the wait time at Douglas?? In most cases you would have your barrel in hand within a week. This also seems to match the diy spirit that lives in most of us. We love to build our on arrows, tune our own bows, and now we can buy a Tikka and build it ourselves. This system will also work on Ruger Americans. Let's face it options are always good. More will fallow and you will see cheaper options. I believe northland shooters supply is working on this as well. They sell Remage and Savage barrels for around $320.

I am sure some will find the valuable but to me the price makes it more advantageous to just get a barrel and have it smithed.

I love being able to swap barrels on my Savages. One reason I love it is that it is clearly cheaper than a new rifle or involving a Smith.

This does give an already great rifle another good feature, which is good for all of us.

If you could convert factory barrels to this system, that's when it would really be a game changer.

keep in mind that if you add a barrel nut it also changes the bedding dimensions and shape as well as other things - IMO leave those like Savage as is, folks like that, and leave the rest of the industry as is too ..... it'll change on it's own
