Moose Mount Display

What is everyone using to hang an alaska moose euro mount?
Take a look at dead on display

Snare cable through the skull with a couple ferrules crimped on. The hook I used is a bit excessive, but this one is in the garage.

The guy that did my first moose bent large bolts and then attached to skulll from the inside with a locking nut. Then an eye bolt in the wall. I add safety cables to all my skulls in the house after a large earthquake we had about 5 years ago.

if you think your hook was excessive, you should see the 3/8" tapcon lags I used.

I spent too much time and effort to find out how a moose skull bounces.

We used a large lag screw with a washer welded on the end and I kept the lower jaw attached to lean it against the wall. Here is right as our place was getting finished.

I really like the snowshoes and pelts do you have them zipped together? And are they just hanging on a screw or nail?

I opted for a european mount, to keep the look clean and I am happy with the result. I also debated a shoulder mount, but can't imagine how heavy and unwieldy it would have been. The skull and antlers was already a pain to lift.IMG_2379(1) - Copy.jpeg

Based on a couple recommendations from other sliders I went ahead and bought a 3D printed skull for a euro on my last moose. I tried to clean up the real skull but, ended up breaking the nose off in the process. The antlers are only 50’ish inches wide, and the fake skull is a little smaller than the natural one but, I think it looks okay. Now just need to figure out where it’ll hang.

Looks nice. Who made the 3d printed skull. I’m looking at doing a similar thing for a couple of Spanish Ibex species but not sure where to get the reproduction skull from. Thanks

Thanks. That one came from Topo Skulls. I think they’re out of Utah. Two places were recommended, and I contacted both of them, but only Topo got back to me.
