I shot a canada moose last year, nothing big, just a decentish bull. Caped it and handed it off to taxi for a should mount. While waiting for the cape and the mounting process, I euroed the skull and hung it in the house. The euro looks sweet and I dont think I am going to shoulder mount it now. The hide just got back from the tannery and I need to pick it up, but don't think I am ever going to shoulder mount it now. Is there a market for ready to mount moose capes? I really have no idea what I am going to do with the cape, other than throw it in the chest freezer, let it sit there for a couple of years before going through the thought process again of "what I am going to do with this cape? Should I shoulder mount it, etc."

A complete tan, if not going to be used soon would benefit from wetting (drip free/rung out) and wrapped up tight (trash sack) and frozen.

If you are going to try to sell it to a taxidermist for mounting you best have the taxidermy measurements (not "it was 800 lb" or "it was a 42" bull"). HERE is an example of how to sell one at a well known taxidermy site. If you try to sell it there, know that they are really, really skeptical of brand new members as there are a lot of scammers because they have limited moderators. Good luck.
