You can disregard this. I found an SG Gumman on clearance shortly after posting this and opted for that. More FP, more fill, less weight, and less money after discount.

I'm on the lookout for a new down jacket for general 3+ season use. I've seen Montbell recommended from backpacking people and Skre recommended by hunting people. In comparing the Skre Ptarmigan to the Montbell Alpine Light Parka it seems that the Ptarmigan has marginally better down power, marginally more down fill, is marginally less expensive, weighs a little more, and comes in hunt-ier colors. Given this comparison, I am leaning towards the Skre product. The Montbell Alpine (not light) seems to be overkill and bulky for what I want at this time, but may be useful later as a deidcated deep winter jacket. I just wanted to see if anyone has their own comparison or can point out something I'm missing that would elevate the Montbell in this comparison.

It seems like I was perhaps I was comparing fill weight of an XL Skre to a Medium Montbell, in which case I don't know which has more fill.

Appreciate the help.
