Hey all, looking to poke around for some elk this coming weekend in 329 with the wife

Can anyone give me some feed back on the area?

Full of hunters or not to bad?

Whats the grizzly population like? I've spent some time in the gravelys, is it comparable or not as dense?

Anyone willing to point a guy in the right direction? I've been looking at bloody dick mountain or if that not a great area maybe head up towards tweedy?

Wife and I have been poking around for elk a couple years now and yet to really have any success, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks gentlemen

This time of year, you won't see a huge amount of pressure in that unit. Access isn't too bad, but the east side has some private that limits access. No grizzlies in residence that I know of. Wolves run between there and up the Grasshopper Valley to the Pioneers. A couple of big packs. There are some BMA's on the north side.

There are elk all over the unit, so pick an area and see. Lots of folks glass from I15 and Bannock Rd. and wait for them to get pushed down. The elk on the western side can migrate into Idaho, so I would stick to the middle and east sides.
