Montana Mule Deer - Opener vs Rut

I’ve been lucky enough to hunt south around Miles City / Forsyth the last several years. Second to third week of Nov. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love seeing some of the rut happening. Don’t mind the gumbo too much as I’m happy to get out of the truck and walk. Can only stand so much truck huntin. Like 406huntermt I’ve eaten some tags. Which is pretty pricey for non res. But making up my mind that I’m going to be picky makes it easy to pass on the forkies. Always hoping I’ll find that bruiser! The only bummer can be the 10 degree day with the 40 mph winds. Deer don’t seem to like it any more than I do. THEN I’ll do my truck hunting. Good luck on an awesome hunt. IT’S ALMOST HERE BOYS!
