Long story short, couple of travel nurses in Montana, we crapped the bed and didn’t get an elk tag in time. Still want to get in the woods and hunt, learn for next year, but still have a chance of taking something. Only option left for us is a bear tag….will there even be any bears out there moving now that the snow has started?

FYI, near Livingston/Bozeman

Yes, I have found black bears out in mid November in central Montana, September berry patches would be a much easier hunt.

I lived in northwestern Montana for quite a few years and most of the bears in our area were denned up by Halloween, but there are always a few out wandering around. I wouldn’t have high expectations, but time in the woods with a tag in your pocket is never a waste of time. Best of luck to you!
