Montana elk permit E-tag view

Hello,

Does anyone know when a drawn permit shows up on the E-tag app? I drew a elk permit but it still hasn't shown up on my E-tags.

Mine shows under “items held”. It doesn’t show on my listed tags.

I was going to tell you how to do it but I just opened my app and my entire E-tag page is blank. Super weird since I tagged a turkey Tuesday and they were all there. I wonder if there was a glitch for those that pulled permits? I did.

I looked at it again, on the permit it says you have to tag it with your valid tag not the permit. My guess is that it just modifies your general tag and you don’t get a separate tag just for the permit.

I looked at it again, on the permit it says you have to tag it with your valid tag not the permit. My guess is that it just modifies your general tag and you don’t get a separate tag just for the permit.

I see that now, it states that it needs to be tagged with the valid carcass tag and not the permit. I just assumed that the permit would have replaced the general elk tag.

I think it’s because in some cases you could still use the tag for a cow elk in other units but can only use for a bull in permitted unit. It’s confusing. I think it’s to help people think they don’t have two tags.
