Monster Mountain Lion Snared North of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada.

He never heard back from the biologist and I haven’t bugged him about it again. Next time I see him in person I’ll try to get the photo from him.

Unfortunately the biologist told my friend that he is not allowed to publicly share the photo. He wasn't even supposed to show me in person I guess. Like someone else mentioned above, apparently California isn't being very public with how big of a problem we really have with these cats in certain regions. Not that we didn't know that already, it's just amazing that they are that blunt about keeping under wraps.

Must have been a well constructed snare.

Knowing the area it was likely a wolf snare, strong as hell. Lions are getting to be more common in Saskatchewan but not to the point where there is a population recognized by our resources department.
