Been shooting a model 70 Winchester ultralight, and the gun has been very accurate using Remington accutip ammo. Going to any other ammo and the gun will not hold any type of group. This evening I took the scope and pulled the bases off. Come to find out the bases are not the same height the rear base is higher than the front base. Would this case my point of impact to be off? The base screws and scope ring all felt snug when I took everything off?

If you look at my 1 piece rail the back is much taller then the front, indicating that your rings should be 2 different sizes the rear being taller then the front.

Thank you this makes me feel much better. Do you know what the base screws should be torqued to?

I want to say 28lbs but I honestly can't remember right now. Don't listen to me, just find out for sure.
