We hunt up west of Park Rapids. As for advice...don't get hung up on Labor Day weekend. Alot of guys hunt that one weekend, get skunked and head home calling it a year. Its normally way too warm and a majority of the bears are nocturnal. Sure. You can kill a bear opening weekend but my group started going 100% the last few years by focusing our efforts latter mid September. Once the temps start dipping into the 50-60s at night the bears start coming in during day light. Run Cameras!! Checking the pits/cams is half the fun. No reason to sit a pit until you see they're showing up during shooting hours. Good luck!!!
