Miwest powders

i have bought tons of the stuff. None since they changed the "naming" system and added the burn rate chart.
Having said that, it usually appeared to be what they said the powder was. It might be faster or slower than what you expect; like a failed QC because it was outside the bounds of the +/- spec the sell the "name brand" as. Start low and work up.

Haven't used a ton but so far so good. I've had similar experiences with speed as deer_hunter132 but one particular powder, haven't seen it in a year or so, is giving considerably higher speed than expected.

I have gotten some of their powders and it’s been fine. I would say that if you are looking for a quick work up, this might not be the best option. I got some that was “similar to 4155”, but it behaves a lot more like H4350, which is fine. Another batch doesn’t really line up with anything in the books, so I’m still trying to baseline it in multiple cartridges. I haven’t seen stick powder on there in a bit. With the de-milled powder there is a good chance that it is a proprietary powder, so I try and buy 16lb lots so that if it is something that works well I won’t run out too quickly.

Thanks for that advice. I have no issues working slowly, that why I retired. The "similar to" has been the roadblock. But now they have a burn chart to show relevant positions to name brand.
What is the meaning of de milled?
