Anybody have any experience in this unit?? Looking to find some new hunting ground and this area caught my eye. Also what about east of the highway near Palisade Lake area?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've seen the Missions from the air and there is some nice buck country up there. Need to find their feed as some of it's so rocky it wouldn't hold many bucks. Plenty of remote country to grow a big deer.

I agree that there is some steep and rocky terrain there. Hopefully I can get in touch with someone who has hunted it so they can point me in the right direction. I will begin scouting this summer but dont have much free time so I have to make every trip count. Im not afraid to put on some miles and am set up to bivy hunt for a few days at a time

Deer densities are low in both districts.

Hunting pressure in the Missions is surprisingly high, especially given the terrain and rudimentary trail system. Used to be good hunting. Lately, not so much. I dont hunt it anymore.

150 is an interesting option. Not as many deer hunters (tons of elk hunters). Access is difficult (long trail distances just to get to the district border) and best off horseback. Deer densities are very low, but some nice deer come out every season. Be prepared to be extremely patient. If you are prepared to REALLY go deep, you can find some solitude.

Absolutely critical in these districts to be bear aware and prepared. Plenty of grizzly bears.

Good luck!
