Missing my dog

I was talking with a coworker the other day and we got to talking about dogs. He said something along the lines of sometimes when I get home I just need to rub some ears. That hit home. When you get home and your dog is just there for you. The emotional response we get from just rubbing some ears is undeniable.

Cheers to all ya dog owners! My old Springer, Z, was my trusty trail companion in Alaska keeping me aware of toothy critters. My newest pup in a Large Munsterlander and I’m enjoying his potential. Keep those kibbles pouring and snacks flowin.

Truth. Who, ever, is happy to see you every day no matter your mood. Hell, I can be in the garage for 30 minutes plus and they happily greet me when I come back in the house.

Avatar dog. Eighteen years and four months with him. Never hunted anything but woodchucks.
Got him for my son for his 7th birthday. Small boy, small dog. The boy is 25 now and on his own. I kept the little killer:

I'm sorry man. My wife and I decided a few years back to have no more pets. The last one we had to put down was all my wife could handle.
