Missing hunters in Colorado

So the fiance said they were supposed to be done hunting on Monday and back home by today and still no one has heard from them? And there has been zero sign of them since the last Inreach communication from the truck 6 days ago?

I do hope they are hunting. As mentioned tho, if I left my phone or what I was using to call the wife in my car, I'd be heading my ass right back to get it. If I was on elk, do my thing and if it got to the point of being dark, I'd be headed back to check in, regardless of how far I had gone. If an elk was downed, quarter it and haul some back and then check in. Too much time has gone by for them to not have checked in and still hunting. I don't believe either was from that elevation, get lack of oxygen, then cold and wet and if they got somewhat lost, a panic situation sets in. People can and do stupid things when the mind gets fogged and with a bit of panic added in makes for a bad situation.
What's your theory? Did you consider my idea about getting in a conflict with another hunter? Why would they both take their bows if they were just hauling meat out? I'm guessing you've decided that environmental factors got them (and egotistically defensive of your position). With the lack of gear they had they wouldn't be more than 3 miles from the car and in that case they'd be found by now.
I mean that's a plausible thought, they got back to the car and had car problems and someone offered a ride. I could see that happen, but I haven't heard of their car was broken down or anything. I honestly think they got into trouble with weather and possibly lost in fog and timber. Both being in camo would make them really hard to spot.

So what we know the last ping was at vehicle on the 11 at trailhead. And no more communication. The very next morning they were suppesdly seen at spruce and headed in after a big bull. But then drove the vehicle back to original trailhead. So that theory is they stayed overnight at car and no communication that nite or following morning? And they were headed “in” after a big bull but failed to take any real gear but locked the vehicle? And headed out w/o communicating the prior nite or that morning? None of that scenario makes any sense? No?

Oh no, I thought their hunt ended today, if they were ending Monday and supposed to be home today that's a terrible sign.

Ever looked for a needle in a haystack? Within 3 miles of the car is still a giant area regardless of SAR resources. The amount of things that can hide two people is never ending.
There's gonna be several angles in a 360° Circle that there's no way they went. Then there's gonna be several angles that would be extremely easy to search. The remainder could be awful ravines I accept that. But with their age the only thing that makes sense is if they got extremely disoriented and panicked and walked in the exact opposite direction. Aside from abduction.

I'm confused by the Los Pinos and spruce hole location updates. Were they camped at one and just parking at the other? Those places are at least a few miles away from each other and on opposite sides of the highway.

Just seen this on FB

Hi everyone, I have been closely following the story of the missing hunters. I felt we could use some visual clarity on the timing of their marked locations. I have marked the following pictures with waypoint numbers (from the gps info from 1-9 in order of time), the time of marking, and the date.

After looking at these points visually, it looks like they spent a lot of time on the northern side of things, furthest from the cars. (marks 2,3,4,5,6)

Marks 1,2,9, the area of their first location and last marked, are at the cars where they supposedly have left their gear. The purple radius is a 500 yard marker for reference. I hope this helps! Praying for them! Bridget Murphy

A single downed tree, blow down, rockslide, etc would easily hide a couple people wearing camouflage that nobody would ever find them, even in a much smaller search area.

A comment on that post
I’m not opposing you I’m just putting this out there for other ppl to see but the pings posted on your pictures differ from the OnX coordinates that were shared by someone else on this group so I don’t know which one’s are accurate.

I’ll post a 3D picture of what I see on OnX, again, which was shared by another person.

Ping 1-9

Ping #1 (9/7 9:19pm) and # 8 (9/11 2:45pm) are in the same spot which is about 0.8 mile’s SOUTH/BEFORE getting to the trailhead as you’re driving up to it. So not at the trailhead.

Ping #2-6 are all up high in the mountain in the same spot each night from (9/8 9:23pm) to (9/10 8:23pm) which I’m guessing each ping was them checking in at the end of the day.

Ping #7 (9/11 1:09pm) is coming down the mountain in the afternoon, which is about the halfway point between pings 2-6 (where they spent the last few nights) & the trailhead/their vehicle.

Ping #8 (9/11 2:45 pm) this is their second to last ping which is also where their FIRST PING was dropped a few days earlier on 9/07 9:19pm (about a mile or so PAST/SOUTH of their car coming down the trail).

Final ping #9 (9/11 3:39pm)(back at the car/trailhead) so about 0.8 miles back up.

I find it strange how ping #1 and ping #8 are in the same location before getting to the trailhead.
Ping #7 shows they dropped a pin coming down at 1:09 pm and at 2:45 pm they would’ve already walked past their car and dropped their second to last ping (ping 8 at 2:45 pm in the exact location where they had pinged on the first day 09/07 9:19pm
…THEN they walked back up to their car and at 3:39pm, about an hour or so later was their final ping.

If these OnX coordinates are true, I wonder why they went back to that area south of their car/trailhead which was where their first ping was at the very first day.

I’m thinking they may have seen elk the very first night driving up to the trailhead but decided to stick to the plan and spent 4 days up in the mountain, walked back down around 1pm on 09/11 and walked PAST their car to that first ping location and THEN walked back up to the car for some food and that was it.

After taking a lunch break they might have decided to go back to that same spot (Ping #1 & #8 )which is only about a mile SOUTH from the car/trailhead and they just happened to drop a ping at the car before heading down..
Either way, I think the spot south of the trailhead/vehicle where they dropped ping’s 1&8 is an area of interest. They might’ve seen elk there on day one before getting to the trailhead and decided to go back 4 days later after eating some food and went straight up the mountain off trail on either the east or west side of those pings.

Praying for their safe return home.
