Minox ZP5 5-25x56 MR4

Welp. Wasn’t me, probably know who it was though.
Lame.
Guess this is gonna be another one of my personal wars.
So far on the RokSlide 2026 wishlist we have
6cm Tikka’s, 16” stainless 223’s, stripped Tikka actions, stripped Sako actions, THLR’s..
I don’t need any of those. I don’t want to get any of these. But I’m unfortunately interested in the first, second and last…. Smh

Hey I appreciate you guys! I have an excuse to hang out on a form all day and talk to guys that actually hunt and shoot.
Speaking of fancy german gun stuff.. do you guys hate thermal or something? I have tried to show these Liemke Luchs clip ons off like 3 times with no traction.. check em out.. best deal in thermal right now and they are rock solid.

I can tell you, 100% of my interest in the THLR ZP5s came from Form's ongoing reviews and commentary about it, and interest had been growing for months. Why did I pull the trigger finally?

An offer that came at the right time, and at the right price.

It was an easy yes. But it wouldn't have happened without those reviews.

Share some of the better Liemke Luchs reviews here. I'm in the market for thermal, and that's a killer price, but I hesitate because: 1) advanced tech from a completely unfamiliar firm and no idea how well they'll hold up over years, or what would happen if things went wrong with it, and 2) I'm not a thermal guru, and need my hand held on why them over other options. All of which comes down to trust.

Some questions from a clip-on newbie who needs one ... will post these here in case this is useful for anyone else (and might help sell you some!):
  • What's the height of the centre of the occular from the Pic rail (for those of us who want to mount to an extended rail, but mate with a hunting scope?
  • Is USB charging the only option, or does this have a removable battery?
  • For use combined with a 44mm hunting scope, would the LUCHS-1 or the 2 be the better option, and why?
  • Given there are different color modes, is there a menu, or is it just a matter of toggling a button? If a menu, is it intuitive? And in either case, does the last-chosen setting remain in place, or do you need to toggle each time?

Cheers!

1, About 1.5" with the ADM mount I had made.
2, USB only, there is no removable battery.
3, objective sizing on a thermal only deals with detection range, the luchs 2 is still at full price of 5kish, and the 35mm is perfect already, i wouldnt spend the extra as a novice.
4, there is an intuitive menu with different color settings and such, it does remember its last setting.
The buttonolgy on the luchs is one of my favorite setups in the industry, the closest thing to a luchs is a RH25, and you need a degree in IT to get that thing started and ready to kill. the luchs is a simple on and off button.

You going for Salesman of the year? I Appreciate you being active on here. Setting the bar pretty high for others.

Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, although i dont see myself as a salesman.. salesman sounds greasy, im like a community liaison or something. I do this for the love of the game lol
Im just not a big fan of clip ons
Totally understand that, i hated pretty much every clip-on on the market until I found the luchs.. Buttonolgy on them sucked, the adapters all were terrible, and almost zero return to zero capability.. The Luchs has none of those issues and is a super utilitarian piece of kit.

Hi Jake, when you do, can you ask if there's any chance of them providing you with more ZP5 THLRs? There might still be a few guys here who would like one ... or three.
Especially since I was under the impression/told I had one “locked in” at the original lowest price and then it mysteriously was sold when I was back off the mountain from my late season bull hunt

We had a quote, but not an inventory hold. We sold out of them extremely quickly and we were allocating them based on who got deposits to us first.
I do apologize, I’ll do my best to get you another one.
If you still want one, I’ll turn on a sales order to reserve any returned THLR for you.

For the original price we talked about, yes

That's why your video on the LUCHS-1 was kinda refreshing - you just come across as a regular guy like us. Keep at it - don't 'try' to sell us stuff, just tell us about good deals and give us the info we need. And don't worry about mis-speaks, stammers, awkward pauses, etc ... that's what keeps it real.

But hot tip? If you start a thread here with info about your products, for gosh-darn sakes make sure you answer our questions! I bumped a couple yesterday that were waiting replies ... ;)

That was such a humbling first sentence 😂 I’m like Ricky Bobby. I don’t know how to behave in front of a camera in a professional sense.. you should see the blooper reels the marketting team has of me.

I saw that, I appreciate it! the sales offices at EuroOptic are a fast and aggressive place to be on a week day, it’s easy to loose track of stuff.

Appreciate it again!
