After a long night that stretched past 2:00 AM, the Minnesota Legislature has officially adjourned its special session sine die — and won’t return until 2026.
We’re proud to report:

SF3 passed — including Shotgun Zone Elimination
No new gun control passed
No new gun rights bills were adopted
Thanks to ten years of relentless advocacy, we finally eliminated one of Minnesota’s most arbitrary hunting restrictions — we’re just waiting on the Governor’s signature to make it official.

We expect Governor Walz to sign the bill.

The change will be effective on January 1st, 2026. Counties may opt-out by passing an ordinance, so keep an eye on your county boards and let us know how we can help.

Together, we’ll keep defending and restoring the right to keep and bear arms in Minnesota.

FINALLY. Wish it would take effect for this fall's season but it's a major win and I'll take it.

Everyone take note: this is effective Jan 1,2026 so looks like one more season with the AR “pistol.”
