New guy here from the Midwest. Been peeping the forum on and off for a couple years. Looking to finally just dive in head first, I'm a paralysis by over analysis guy and finally said screw it.

Looking to get into some Elk primarily and supplement the Western itch with antelope and muley as well.

Let's see if this tree stand rat can be turned into a Western Hunter.

Welcome from So Dak. Made the leap few years ago to western elk hunting and hope to add antelope and muley. Wish I had did it many years ago. Best to jump in and learn as you go.

Thanks all! I'm within 10 minutes of downtown Minneapolis. So far for looking at building up some points in Wyoming, AZ, and Colorado for Elk. Putting in for a few draws in those plus Idaho with one of Colorado and possibly Montana being my OTC hunt state each year if I don't draw.

If anyone has anything this flatlander needs to keep in mind let me know. This year I'm dropping money on what I view as the key areas (good pack, boots, and sleep system). And spending lots of time hoofing around a weighted pack to get as "mountain ready" as I can.
