I've had gas powered chainsaws that I've put dime point bars on with no problems. I just bought a cordless saw to work inside in the cold. I bought the proper bar/pitch/size. I'm unable to tighten enough because of the smaller bar tip. My question is: am I able to buy a larger sprocket and in effect, shorten the chain a little?

Easiest answer will be to break the chain and take a link out. Small saws have drums not removable sprockets. Doubt Milwaukee makes a 8, 9 or 10 pin drum. Just pull a link, spin it back together and keep making bears
