I have a couple of them. The bivy is the best part. The patrol bag is a great overbag to use with a down bag to increase the temp rating. It will also help keep the down drier on a longer trip. A easy uppgrade would be a inexpensive 15 /20 degree civilian bag to replace the black bag. I still use the bivy when weight does not matter as much (scouting trips). They are really tough . Just noticed I am about 5 years late to the party....wonder if the OP is still rockin his MSS.
