I've always thought thermal was cool but could never afford it, but I ran across the Mileseey products and got very interested. Thermals have very much come down in price in the last few years. These seem to be the Chinese brand that actually has somewhat of a good reputation but there's only here and there reviews of them online. They're currently on a pretty good sale, so I picked up the lower end model to give it a try. For <$400 I'm incredibly happy with the results.

The TNV10 is a 256x192 resolution with 12μm pixel size and claims 600yrd detection (660 yards is listed in some places, they're a little inconsistent) and 266 yard recognition. My use case is 100-200 yards spotting whitetail deer (I'll probably do some racoon hunting with it at some point as well). Most of my corn piles are roughly 100yards from my stands. I've been out with it once so far and I'll post some of the pictures it took below. Sadly it doesn't record video, but that's not a deal breaker for me at all. I could clearly make out grey squirrels on the corn pile (especially when they moved a little) and could very occasionally see some of the small birds on the corn. Deer were very easy to make out and it was clear which way they're facing. Sizing is a little tough but I may figure it out with some experience. Your options are 1x, 2x, and 4x, however I found the 4x to be kind of useless because it gets so grainy.

The 2 deer I have pictured are ones I've seen before, they are a small doe(~75lbs) and a button buck(~100lbs). The picture below of the squirrel was taken during daylight, the pictures of the deer were taken at twilight where I really could just barely see them through my rifle scope. It was really too dark at that point to identify a deer for an ethical shot but these 2 have been pretty regular customers at this stand. I have developed a preference for green hot mode over all the rest because the internal screen is so bright in the other modes that it just kills my low-light vision. The green seems to not impact it nearly as much. I wish there was a brightness adjustment. I will say that the pictures don't really convey how good you can see detail when the animals are in motion. It was very easy to tell which way their heads were turned for example.

I just thought I'd share my experience since I'm excited about my new toy. Far from an in depth review but I've only had it for about 3 days. I'll be using it a lot more coming up. At the price point I haven't found anything else that's even close to this, most of the 160 resolution handhelds are similarly priced and are far less capable. Mileseey also has a 384 resolution unit and a 640 resolution.
