Usually have a couple migration days for specks the second week of October in Missouri, but have only seen a couple groups come thru so far. No big ducks here yet and season opens this weekend.

82 in eastern SD today. Pretty slow here now. Need some cold fronts to start moving ducks south.

Eagerly waiting for some information:). Headed up to NoDak for the first time thanksgiving break with some roommates.
Generally i would say thats pretty late I have been ice fishing by thanksgiving a bunch of years but i think you might hit it just right if this weather pattern sticks.

Really really slow here in Northern Utah. Been out half dozen nights after work and not seeing many ducks and/or geese.

I agree. My buddies and I went to Kansas last thanksgiving and there was ice there. Looks like the weather will be pretty perfect for us up there, luckily.

Most BWT have moved on and starting to lose local pintails where I've been hunting in east-central SD. Noticed Squaw Creek refuge in NW missouri picked up 25,000 pintails this week, so that correlates. Scouted a slough I hunt on Friday afternoon on my way to the camp ground for cast & blast and there were bufflehead, redhead, and ringers on there now. Heard specks and cranes migrating down the missouri river a few nights this weekend. Did see one flock of specks roosting on a pasture pond on Sunday. Buddies shot 3 snow geese and some specks up in north central SD on Saturday morning. I have zero ambition to even scout for canadas right now; walleye fishing has been too damn fun.

2 weeks ago we had about 5000 speck feed and got them pretty decent. They moved on though friend heard some cranes and specks at night last night. We really don’t get many birds on the river here until everything else is froze which should not take long since most of the water is dried up over here. Usually by pheasant season we have some big duck feeds but nothing yet this year.
