Not to be rude, however I am going to go against the grain and say- this, like almost all others, is a poorly designed stock for shooting.

This is why-

Everyone keeps dropping the recoil line below the barrel. The distance between the top of the pad and the bottom of the line is wasted recoil/muzzle lift control. The stock is actually fighting against you seeing your own impacts.

If we imagine that the barrel is perfectly level, then a stock should have a negative comb (butt pad higher than action), vertical grip, level front to back on bottom from butt pad to grip or nearly so (or at least a portion), forend level front to back.

Ridiculously the factory T3x stock with vertical grip installed still has probably the best function of any of them.

This is John with Mesa Precision Arms, sorry that you are confused about how the stock is designed. The receiver and barrel do not fit in the stock the same angle your line shows. I will post supporting documents, long story short you are a little confused on the design and inletting process.

If the stock was inletted at the same angle as your line indicates the tang of the rifle would be hovering an inch over the stock.

So the buttpad is inline with the center of the barrel then?

The top of the butt pad is relatively on the same plane as the center of the action.
Any word on that possible group buy? Or did I miss it scrolling?

Ha ha that is actually why I got on here. I am waiting for @eamyrick to get back to me. We are a go on the Pre-order. We have 35 spots available for this run. You will be able to pick you barrel channel inlet and color. Every stock is going to come with a hardened recoil lug and a new set of action screws. The stocks will be delivered 2-weeks after the Pre-order. ROKSLIDE members will be given a discount code to order off of our website starting tomorrow https://mesaprecisionarms.com/product-category/rifle-stocks/

Currently we have been having the stock being tested by avid Tikka shooters and is ready for the public. We will have them post success pictures and opinions on this thread.

Thanks for the patients and we know that you all will be pleased.

We are wanting to launch this by tomorrow, we will keep you posted.

Do you have anymore pictures? Because the top of the buttpad is below the bolt notch in the stock...

To be a negative comb, and be what I was speaking to- the top of the buttpad should be above the centerline of the barrel.

Send me an email [email protected], I would love to give you all the info you need. The stock has a negative comb, lower in the front than in the back. This allows us to have a higher cheek weld and prevent the recoil driving in to our face. The butt pad drops down lower than the comb so shooters can change the length of pull without getting in to the comb of the stock. This stock is a pleasure to shoot with an awesome vertical grip displacing energy away from the shoulder and face. I have been able to watch impacts on a lot of animals and targets.

Did you say before that there would be an option for remingtons?

We discussed this today and ideally this first run it would be Tikka inlets but there may be some room for a few short action inlets.

Tikka Stocks are Live https://mesaprecisionarms.com/products/rifle-stocks/tikka-altitude-stocks/

I have been using this stock for awhile now and cant recommend it enough. Great stock for Tikkas and fills a big gap in a stock bottom metal, high quality lightweight Tikka stock. Very comfortable and natural to shoot from prone and improvised field positions. The comb height is as high as you can go and still cycle the bolt and it is slanted away from your face so during recoil the stock moves away from your cheek. I have a picatinny rail and 50mm scope in low rings and have perfect sight alignment. The finish is second to none and quality is every bit of what Mcmillan or Manners offers.

Now that I can show pics of my set up. Should give everyone a better idea of the stock with a Tikka in it.
