jm1607 - Were the boxer briefs you bought from Sierra Trading Post Redram?
I started off with Core4 100% merino. They developed holes fairly quickly. I believe Core4 has switched to a merino/polyester blend since and they are more durable. I then went to Redram from STP. Great price and quality. Ice Breaker made them under the Redram brand name. I still use them. Last year I started wearing two pairs of FirstLite red deserts. Slightly better quality than Redram, but significantly more expensive. The longer legs are nice - they stay down.

I found the same issue with the Redrams - legs are too darn short and they ride up. I'm looking for replacements for this year.

We are talking about underwear now haha.. For sixty bucks a pop they better massage my boys while I'm hiking around.
Understand, but..... If they don't fit right and you are dealing with creeping drawers and sweaty "boys" then $60 gets cheap... The goal should be that they are a non issue during your trip rather than a constant source of irritation. ;) My favorite of what I have tried so far are the Sitka Boxers. They are long enough they don't creep up and moisture management has been good. (I have not tried the FL ones)

The boxers I have are Minus 33.. Like I said, they've done an OK job. They're just already falling apart (holes, stitching, etc) after one season of use...

I went ahead and picked up some Red Deserts after reading everyone's advice since they were on sale, so I'm G2G!

I just ordered some of each, and I'll post up a comparison. I'm no clothing expert, but I've been wearing underwear nearly all my life.

I have tried quite a few brands and really prefer the First Lite Red Deserts over anything else. My next pick is Exofficio boxer briefs they fit excellent and breath extremely well. Those are followed by U.A Touch and Terramar Pro Mesh. After those I like Hunters Specialties Tek 4. I don't like these following ones as much for one reason or another Core 4 Element merino the crotch doesn't have enough gusset and seems to pinch when taking big strides because the seems do not stretch, Sitka because they could easily loose 1.5" of height from the waist height above the crotch they seem to have a fit like women used to wear their pants back in the day around the belly button, the extra height on the sitkas tends to bunch and pinch under my waist belt and pants. I'm sure there are more I was foregetting but another brand would have to get alot of hype before I strayed form First Lite and Exofficio at this point.

I've never found anything better than the UA mesh boxer briefs. Very comfortable and never stretch, bunch up, ride up, or wear out.

Amazing boxers. I have two pairs and can easily wear them for a week with no problems. Super comfortable and it is pretty hard to get them to smell bad. I can't find anything bad about them. Well worth the money.

Are you folks that wear merino briefs using them for daily wear or just hunting? (Do you try to not wash them often?)

I personally do not like the C4E cut. Not nearly enough coverage, if that makes sense? Felt more brief than boxer....

I've had good luck with the core 4 boxer briefs. They are a merino/poly blend and they seem to be holding up well. I only wear them for hunting and not everyday use.

I've had 3 pair and every pair wears holes out in the crotch after a single 5-7 day hunt. Very comfortable but if you do a lot of hiking they wear out easy

I actually like the REI smart wool briefs. 3 pairs and 3 seasons worth of use with only one hole caused by brush
