Merino tops getting holes

My first lite Llano shirt got holes worn through after only couple days use from the pack waist belt.

The Kuiu wool I have has the same holes, and not because of moths. They typically show up in high wear areas (i.e. where the pack suspension touches the shirts). I did unwittingly watch a grasshopper chew a hole in a brand new Kuiu top once though.

My First Lite tops seem much better about this.
