Tstowater , I'm giong to dye them so if its warm and they end up as an outer layer I won't be a giant white blob. I was just trying on a pair of asolo sassalongs when you posted. They may be the ticket for me. No slip and toes don't hit the end. Pretty snug around the foot and will need some breaking in but I'm hopeful. Still have the pair of Lowa Tibet LL for sale. There is a tiny bit of room in the right heel but I was trying lacing techniques and it tightened up.

The reason I got natural in the first place is that is what they had in a cut that would come close to being long enough. The Taramar's were cut an inch longer than the rest. They seem very nice but I haven't washed and dyed them yet. I got a heavy merino wool sweater also for @ $80 . It looks very close to the Labrador by first light but dark grey. I've got to stretch my dollars where I can.

How are the core4 marino boxers? I thought i saw them on camofire for under $20.

The merino itself is nice but I don't like the cut. The length below and above the crotch point is fine but there is a weird kind of half gusset that pinches on me a little and may be worse than no gusset. Its like a triangle that points to the back but ends before turning up so the room is a little cramped. Also if you have large legs there is a band around each leg that doesn't really stretch and can be tight.

I find the exofficio are the best synthetic and the first lite are the best merino I have tried. Also the under armour touch are nice for synthetic. I don't like the sitka because they come up to about my belly button.
