Hi!

I’m building out my 300 WSM for my first western rifle. I’m still in the process of setting up my entire kit (clothes, boots, bag, bino’s, rifle, etc) so shopping best bang for the buck items. I saw the the Optika6 passed the evals pretty well a while ago and SWFA is notorious for reliability as well with everyone here. Given I’m trying to stay around the $1000 mark of below, and both scopes coming in at the same price (EuroOptic sale) I’m curious if either scope has any advantages over the other to make the decision either. My only minor gripe about the SWFA is the mile long turrets. I’m also really thinking about the Maven but at $500 more I feel I could spend that money elsewhere. Any feedback is welcomed! Thanks!

The SWFA Gen 2 has modular turrets. Looks like there's a shorter option.

Are you looking at SFP or FFP?
I just bought another Meopta well aware of the drop test.
This makes my 3rd Meopta and I will keep buying more until I find I can't trust them.
The glass is fantastic and the adjustments made sighting it in a 4 shot process.

Yeah I’ve had Meopta Optika5/6 and never had issues with them keeping zero, but the two negatives were:

1. Optika 6 is nearly 30 oz and can affect balance of rifle
2. Z plus reticle is too thin for hunting in low light

I had a k-dot reticle Optika 6 2.5-15x44 that I killed my first elk with, and regret selling. They don’t make them anymore that I’ve been able to find

I have a 3-18 with the illuminated 4C dot reticle. Basically this

Like it a lot. But as others mentioned, it is heavy. Its mounted on my 7mag so its not a light weight setup anyway. Has performed flawless for the 6 years of so that I have had it. Tracking if fine but then again, I don't throw my rifles out the back of a truck or off a cliff just for reviews. I take care of my "tools".
