I love Meindl boots; have had great success with the comfort hunters and the old Denali (now Vakuums) hunters. I am looking for a light weight hiking boot to complement my bigger, stiffer, heavier hunting boot.

I was considering the Eurolight hikers and called customer service and after giving my history he recommended the Vakuum light hikers. I can't seem to find much for reviews/feedback on this particular boot. Has anyone used them? What were the results? Thanks.

I too love their boots. I think I have 5 pairs. The Vakuum (old Cabelas Denali) are my favorites, but I also have the older model of the Perfekts, as well as the Air Revolution Alpines. All of those boots fit my like a glove. None required much breaking in and they are excellent.

A few months ago I ordered the Comfort Fit Light hikers. I wanted them just for daily wearing. They showed up and those things are trash. I couldn't believe they were the same brand as my trust other Meindls. I have a slightly wider foot, not to the extent of wearing wides, but I can't wear a narrow boot. My usual Meindls were ideal, but those Comfort Fit Light Hikers felt like my foot was in a tent. They were "baggy" if that's a proper way to describe it. They fit nothing like the rest of the Meindls. I believe the Eurolight Hikers are built similarly to the Comfort Lights. They're just a totally different construction and feel from the usual models we're accustomed to.

I called and requested to return them, which I did. I was also told to try the Vakuum Lights if I'm accustomed to the standard Vakuum boots. Unfortunately mine are on backorder since my size was out of stock. From what I understand though, the Vakuum standard and light are both the "MFS" construction so they should be of similar fit. I'm confident they will fit like my others.

I will say that the Air Revolution models fit just as well as the Vakuums. I don't have much use on mine yet, but they seem fantastic. Lighter, shorter of course, but still feel nice and firm but not stiff.

I think you'd be good to go with the Vakuum Lights or any of the Air Revolution models. Just wear them indoors to start and Meindl will gladly return them if you aren't impressed.

Have a pair of the Cabela's Perfekt hunters that were insulated. Love them. No break in time and they are still serving me well. Wanted to change from my Lowa Caminos this year and tried the Bergell hiker and the Comfort Fit hiker. Couldn't decide which one to keep. The Bergell's fit great with the MFS and I'll use them for summertime hiking and backpacking. The Comfort Fit feel more suited for my fall hunting needs. A bit more room so I can use heavier socks when the weather gets cool. Couldn't see the Bergell's fit working for that. Very happy with them so far, but not much mileage on them yet...

I was told that the vakuum light hikers would be back in stock mid May. You can sign up for an email to be notified when they arrive. That's what I'm planning to do. Thanks for your feedback!
