9 year old bull
50 yards
80lb Bow
125gr. Grim Reaper 1 3/8” pro mechanical
Gold Tip Airstrike 525gr. at 290fps
2 holes, but snapped the arrow in half behind the shoulder when he went to run, so not a full pass through. Sprinted about 300 yards across a flat and died when he hit the first drainage.

Cow Elk
30 yards
70lb bow
SEVR 2.0
560gr. FMJ
Barely popped through on the opposite side and then she broke the arrow when she took off. Maybe made it 50 yards and died.

SEVR 2.1 150gr. Robusto

I like the grim reapers a little more because of the more swept back blade angle. They still made nice holes with the 3 blades, but would go a little deeper than the blunt blade angle of the big SEVR’s. I would use either one again though.

No detailed photos of the wounds themselves unfortunately.

I'm fairly new to Mechanicals. I had never used one until about 6 years ago. So here goes my initial contribution.

Black bear
- 70lb draw wt
- 27.5 DL
- shot distance 19yds
- SEVR 2", 125gr
- pass through
- GT Pierce, 300, some heavy @ss Ethics insert system, 504 TAW (this was my heavy weight/ High FOC experiment phase)
- This was the first animal I took using a mechanical BH. Nothing really spectacular about this, shot was middle of middle. Other than the when the arrow exited the bear it bounced off the bait barrel and shot about 10yds back towards my location. It took a bit to find it.

Buck Antelope
- 71 draw wt
- 27.75 DL
- shot distance around 45ish
- SEVR 1.75, 125 gr
- pass through
- BE Rampage, 300, 50gr insert, 10gr collar, 471 TAW
- My experience with speed goats are if you try to stop them like is common with deer, they will turn inside-out and take off. So this was an ambush and the buck was walking. The shot went in behind the ribs, severed the arteries under the spine. He ran full speed about 80 yds and tipped over.

Mountain Lion
- 71 draw wt
- 27.75 DL
- shot distance around 13yds
- SEVR 1.75, 125 gr
- Arrow stopped by treed on off side.
BE Rampage, 300, 50gr insert, 10gr collar, 471 TAW
- Shot was tight behind the shoulder, and because of how they crouch in a tree it did enter part of the leg muscle. The lion's onside front leg snapped the arrow as it jumped from the tree. Cat ran about 100-120 yds. Recovered the broadhead inside while field dressing. Large entry hole. The hole on the off side was the shape of the chisel tip due to the tree stopping it. Picture with my hand is the entrance.

Pig
- 71 draw wt
- 27.75 DL
- shot distance around 35-38yds
- Evolution Outdoors Hyde, 125 gr
- pass through
- BE Rampage, 300, 50gr insert, 10gr collar, 471 TAW
- I'd never hunted pigs before and we were down in OK. Spot/stalk, shot was back part of ribs. The Sow ran about 100yds and died. Blades were bent but the feral spun straight when I tested back home.

3-blade 1.5" diameter NAP original Spitfire made in the US. They have sharper blades and open easier than the Taiwan made version. Arrows are 4mm Easton Carbon Injexions with a total weight of 471 gr at 271 fps (65# bow with a 29-1/4" draw). No photos as I don't post them on the net:

Blackbear, 35 yards facing me, spot and stalk. Hit the neck chest and arrow was a pass thru out the back end. Bear went 100 yards with a hard to follow blood trail due to semi dark woods and no flashlight.

Blackbear 25 yards quartering away, spot and stalk. Hit behind the shoulder and arrow passed thru ahead of the offside shoulder. Bear went around 100 yards with a good blood trail but was a bit hard to follow due to poor light and no flashlight (Again).

Blackbear at 35 yards steeply quartering away, spot and stalk. Hit well behind the shoulder and arrow skidded along the ribs and passed thru out the near side front shoulder. Bear went 200 yards and blood trail was good.

Blackbear was 32 yards broadside, spot and stalk. Hit spine which severed the spinal cord. Bear was instantly down but managed to get downhill a short distance into thick stuff where he was arrowed again at close range.

Black bear 35 yards broaside, spot and stalk. Arrow hit the "middle of the middle" and passed through. Bear went 25 yards down a very steep hill into very thick cover. Fine blood trail.

Black bear at 27 yards quartering away, spot and stalk. Arrow hit ahead if hind quarter and penetrated to the offside shoulder. Bear went 60 yards leaving a decent blood trail.

Polar bear 30 yards broadside, bayed up by sled dogs. Arrow hit the top of the heart/arteries and stopped in the offside shoulder after penetrating 28" of bear. Bear roared and jumped ahead one jump and went down in about 6 or 8 seconds after the arrow hit. Inuit says it was the fastest kill he'd ever witnessed on a polar bear out of 20 years of guiding them.

Dall ram 55 yard broadside shot. Arrow hit liver and passed through. Ram went 120 yards with a lot of blood.

Tule elk 31 yards broadside. Arrow hit behind front shoulder and passed through. Elk ran 60 yards with good blood trail.

Mountain Caribou 56 yards quartering toward. Arrow hit tight on shoulder and passed through. Caribou ran 40 yards and laid down and was arrowed again but didn't leave his bed.

Central Barren Ground Caribou 40 yards broadside. Arrow hit liver and passed through. Caribou went 150 yards. Didn't look for a blood trail as he died in plain sight.

Coues buck broadside at 25 yards. Arrow hit spine (think he was jumping string) and passed through to the fletch. Buck went down and was arrowed again.

Coues buck broadside at 15 yards. Arrow hit perfect right behind shoulder. Buck went 100 yards in about 10 seconds with a great blood trail.

Mule deer buck at 45 yards quartering away. Pass though too far back. Buck went several hundred yards to where he laid up and died.

Canada Moose at 45 yards broadside. Arrow hit behind shoulder a tad high. Cut off a rib on entry and penetrated to far side of the ribs. Point was poking out of the hide on the far side. Moose went 35 yards and crashed. Never looked for a blood trail.

Edited to ‘25 animals:

Black bear frontal at 20 yards (trying to intimidate me). Pass through most of the length of the bear. Blood flew as soon as the arrow hit him. Huge blood trail and he made it about 25 yards.

Big Mountain Caribou at 65 yards broadside. Arrow hit liver and was poking out far side. He went about 65 yards. Jumped him about 5 minutes later and he made it about 50 yards before dying.

- Draw Weight: 80lbs
- Draw Length: 28.25
- Animal: Whitetail doe
- Shot distance: 32 yards
- Broadhead: SEVR 1.75
- Penetration: Full pass through
- Arrow: 485g Victory VAP TKO
- Shot from a tree stand about 20ft or so up. Doe ran about 10 yards, stopped, looked around, and fell over. Shot went through high near the rear rib/spine, and came out of the chest, hitting the top of the heart.
The arrow was recovered with the first 1/4 of it in the mud. SEVR blades were bent from a rock I’m assuming
