Meateater Season 10 thoughts?

I've also noticed recently that they've started not showing the kill shot. They'll cut to the shooter or zoom out suddenly. I get that they are showing that it's more about the hunt and not just the kill, but it seems like a shame to show us everything else before and after, and not that.
Then again, it could be strategic, so when a shooter makes a poor shot they can still show the hunt, and it's not weird or obvious that there was no footage of the bullet impact.

Big agree here. I think they sacrificed some of the story to highlight more of the cooking/eating. Seems like the older episodes had a minute or two of the culinary aspect at the end, but really focused on the hunt and the work behind it.

But there were also a few episodes a season that were nothing BUT cooking. Nothing more disappointing than firing up a new episode about…cooking with burger. I much prefer this season’s cooking episode, despite Rinella’s butchery of the German language. He must be carrying forward that grudge on behalf of his old man.

I've noticed this too, however I dont think its all that recent. Some of his older episodes they dont show kill shots either. I'm not sure if its miscommunication with the camera guys or its intentional. A few of his camera guys arent even hunters. You never hear any communication between hunter and filmer like in other shows. "Are you on him?"

I’d venture it’s to comply with YouTube and possibly Netflix as well.

I appreciate the fact that they miss in multiple episodes and shows it not easy, but at the same time they are missing seemingly easy shots. Don’t quite get that as they could clean miss a 100yrd animal which is hard on an elk sized critter. Overall I enjoy it but definitely working for crowd pleasing.

Still way better then most shows out there. Didn’t care too much for the first episode with the tour bus guy or who ever he was but otherwise it was all good

I liked most of em. The flintlock show was especially awesome. The slomo footage at the end was fantastic. The goat hunt was great too. Only one I didn't care for was the squirrel hunt because... Squirrels?

I'll echo everyone else here. The flintlock episode was the highlight, the pronghorn hunt with the country singer was the worst.

They need to switch is up and do some fast paced stuff maybe throw in some sea duck hunting instead of shooting thr shit with some celebrity on a ranch. Something about these tv guys constantly screwing up in a hunt is satisfying. They are human

I love cooking but hate watching people cook on TV. It’s soooo boring. They need more hunting/in the woods material and less food network crap.

Anyone else noticed that there have been a lot more misses since they started shooting the new Weatherby rifles? Even the meateater hunts series shows a ton more misses. I like the reality but that can’t be great marketing for the sponsor.

I like the show. I like how varied it is both in terms of the game pursued and the places where it is pursued. Hopefully, it generates interest in people looking for opportunities near their own homes in the east/midwest and on private land.

The show has always had a mix of private land and public land hunts and has never tried to hide it. I just looked through their full catalogue of episodes and I would say that western big game on public land only makes up 30-40% of the episodes.

I also like the episodes with Clay Newcomb. He has a deep yearning for doing things in a traditional style and I enjoy that aspect. Again, it adds variety. I have absolutely no interest in squirrel hunting but this show makes it interesting.

The only episode I didn't really like in this season is the Luke Combs pronghorn episode. They made too big a deal out of the guest's profession as if I am supposed to be impressed.
