I want to buy a sled for next years moose hunt as the area we plan on hunting requires the meat remain on the bone. This means big pieces and I'm and old guy and looking for easy.
Alaska Gear has a roll up flex sled and they have this:
Weight and size of the sled isn't much of an issue as this will be a ATV hunt.
Would you pick the flex or the pulk sled?

I'm assuming the OP is wanting to add a roll-up sled to take with a ball/hitch trailer on wheels...perhaps an additional option to move meat to the trailer?

Edit: Didn't see your post above OP before posting...sorry about that.

The pull sled I've been using for a half-dozen years and really like is:

I used A $30 plastics kids, sled to bring out a moose.

Before you do, I suggest you work out the bugs before you go hunting.
I put 2 or 3 (100#/150#) sandbags in the sled to see how hard it was to pull. Over hard ground, it was easy, sand was a problem, grass in unit 13, next to a river was really hard. Going down hill, I needed a 2nd person to keep the sled from hitting me and turning over.

Pulling the sled, I had two ropes going from the sled to a 1/2” x 6”or 8” x 16” plywood that I had next to my chest that I push against, instead of having to pull the sled. There was a rope in the back for going down a hill.

You could also use a tarp, or stretcher, made out of two poles and a tarp.

The ice fishing sleds work great! Very durable got our last moose out whole that way.

I’m in the same boat. Tired of destroying my back - I will more than likely go with Larry’s sled

I've hand drug sleds a lot, but always in the winter (trapping, ice fishing, caribou). And I have one of the rigid pulk sleds above from Airframes. They are nice for how I use them, but for what you're describing I think I would go with a roll up sled for the extra give/flexibility in lumpy terrain. And portability; the rigid sleds take up a lot of space.

Good discussion. The Jet sleds for ice fishing are nice but way too heavy. Also learned it is a good idea to tie off the sled to your pack frame when dragging it out if your solo.
