I will say is plenty of good. I got the .5 HP from Cabelas I have done few deer and elk without any problems. Mind you my grinder is over 15 year old.

It's enough to get buy but leaves something to be desired.

I have been using .5hp for years. However, I want, and would go with a bigger one just for the faster feeding.

The 1 HP is the way! Especially if you’re doing multiple animals at once and have a dedicated guy or gal on the grinder. It’s a beast.

You won’t regret it. The 1.5hp is ridiculous, I can’t even imagine the 2hp version

I don't, but before I bought one I'd check marketplace and craigslist. I've purchased 2 Berkel slicers, both under $300. People struggle to sell them from what I've found. These are top of the line, restaurant quality machines. I only had to buy the second one because my ex wife stole my first in the divorce. It was perfect. My replacement is great too, just bigger and heavier than I'd like.

Considering the .5 hp dual grind or .75 hp single grinder. Does anyone have an opinion on which is the better value given their similar prices? Would only be for a few animals spread out over the year, maybe a bit of beef but mainly elk and deer.

Why is the .5 hp regularly $499 while the .75 hp is $479? From a value stance, I bought the .5 hp. Just didn’t understand why there was a price difference. Thanks for the heads up though, I was in the market for a new grinder.
