I am looking to try a different chassis. I have the MDT field chassis and want a system I can bond the action to the frame, but have the ability to remove it if needed. This requires heat and the removal of the plastic. I believe both the Oryx and Bravo allow for this option.

I have never held a Bravo for more than a minute and the one I did I thought the vertical grip was to thick. I like the slim grip on the MDT.

Does anyone have both and could provide pics or dimensions. If not could you recommend a different chassis.

Budget is $550 maximum and I do not wish to piece one together with an AR but stock.

This will be for a Tikka SA or Savage SA.

The grip of the Bravo is larger, so I don’t think you’d like it based on your comment—I like the Bravo because it is fatter than an AR grip.

How does the Bravo compare to the MDT field stock regarding the grip. I like the MDT

Picked up a Bravo this week. I do like it more after shooting a session. Seems much easier to stay in the field of view vs the MDT Field once the trigger is pulled.

The bravo is one of the easiest stocks in the world to shoot well, and the field is one of the hardest. I’m not surprised you like the Bravo. Good choice.

I was shocked at the difference it made while shooting. I prefer the grip and negative comb of the MDT. Then shooting it back to back against a Bravo it was evident the Bravo was easier to stay in the scope and spot an impact. A lot more testing to follow. It would be nice to have a bio mechanic website that has some form of video for this as a comparison. I put to much emphasis on what felt good vs what is good. The only real way to tell is try it. Maybe I’ll figure out how to take a selfie and impose the measurements on a stock and have it simulate actual recoil. Then again I am old and crusty and can barely figure out my phone or the apps on i

What makes the field hard to shoot?

MDT XRS is worth looking at. Stiff, different grip options, reasonably light. Adjustable lop and cheek piece. Been using one for NRL Hunter and like it.
