Weight with MDT Hunting Bottom Metal: 30oz
From MDT
The MDT CRBN Carbon Fiber Chassis Hunter Kit delivers a complete, field-ready precision rifle package that transforms the Tikka T3X into a fully capable long-range hunting and competition rifle right out of the box. Constructed from high-quality carbon fiber, the CRBN chassis dramatically reduces overall rifle weight compared to traditional aluminum chassis systems without sacrificing the rigidity and bedding consistency that precision shooters demand for repeatable accuracy. The Hunter Kit includes everything needed to get into the field immediately, bundling the CRBN chassis with a bipod, sling, and all necessary hardware for a complete, ready-to-hunt package at exceptional value. The integrated fixed ARCA rail provides immediate compatibility with a wide range of ARCA-compatible tripods, bipods, and accessories for a versatile, modular shooting platform that adapts to any field scenario.

What is the justification for the cost of this thing?

I'm guessing this:

ETA: I see this as targeted at NRL Hunter types. If you compare it to buying a Manners LRH-SC, it's not out of line (and it's lighter). And this one is available for Tikka, whereas I don't think that particular Manners is.

These stocks definitely have a feel to them like they were made for NRL
BUT, they are a full featured chassis at a hunting weight. I had one on a 18” 6.5 cm Bergara for about a year and that setup was fantastic with a US OG & a 3-18 Z5i+. Tiny tiny little groups, very handy, probably one of my favorite T&E builds to date.

My only personal complaint with this stock is the same for most MDT stocks, they put the front sling cup way too far forward for my liking & the rifle slings on the front of my chest like a bag full of hammers or something.
Sling cup locations have stopped me from buying many rifles, & chassis’s - seekins precision suffers the same fate with their rear sideways QD & front underside..

Aside from my b****ing about being able to sling the rifle how I want, things great and everyone should have one.

Can you verify the weight? Your website shows that they weight 2.8lbs which is quite a ways away from 30oz. Thanks.
Dont trust my website for specs unless its something ive been hyper obsessing on personally
We're having some growing pains with the new website and some new employees..
Always check manufacturer site or just ask me here - Jake

Ok, that changes things... I saw the weight on the euro optic site and immediately dismissed it for being absurdly heavy for a carbon fiber hunting stock.

I was wondering if they were using lead as a coring material 🤣

Hardened maple syrup and gold nuggets, they are Canadian after all
