Have a few camo, painted, and swirly McMillans and like all of them. Decided to get a look at the McWalnut for a lefty 700 long action. Thinking its worthy of a build of some type now. Another option if you are looking for synthetic with a wood look.

Have a kitchen scale that I won't verify is 100% accurate but coming up with 29 ounces. That has a 13.75 inch LOP and the pic rail for quick attach bipods up front. Once I started using those, I have been adding that to each forearm.

Had a McMillan gift card so built this without a rifle to go with it lol. Have to watch for a lefty BDL now I guess. Thinking new 8 twist 280 remington would be a nice rifle.

I like them too. Hand polished this McSwirly. Took forever but turned out great! I’d like to get a McWalnut next and do the same way.

Tell me about that polishing process if you have time.

Think it is actually called a McWoody.

The polishing process… with Mcmillans you can polish it as it comes, without adding clear or anything. Just be careful not to sand Thru the factory gel coat. Basically I started wet sanding at 800grit, then 1000, then 2000. Might’ve hit it with something higher after that. Then I finished with an orbital polisher with 3m polishing compound and wax.
