Taking advantage of the card member appreciation days at Scheels next week and ordering an Ascent Verdict.

Currently I have a 3+1 slider G5 sight. I tree stand hunt in my home state but am getting more into spot and stalking the last couple of years which is why I want to upgrade to the slider. Those of you that have a sliding bow sight, how many pins and what color do you like? I am debating between 3 and 5 pins, no one carries the MBG w/5 pins in store so I can't see for myself. Is 5 pins too busy even with the 2in head? Color wise I am thinking of doing GRGRG or GGRGG. Yellow I haven't been a fan of since I am mostly hunting badlands type terrain with lots of tans, browns and yellows being present.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences with the Ascent Verdict.

Also is the Revenge head w/micro adjust worth it vs the stock head?

I run the verdict with 3 pins. Red, green, and yellow. The green is extremely bright for me, so I want it in the middle, which I use as my rover since I like the rover to be in the dead middle of the sight. Works well for what I do, but I haven’t used it on western type hunting, I just spot and stalk pigs in Tx

How do you like the middle being the slider? Most recommend the bottom pin as the slider correct?

I like it a lot. Coming from a few years worth of shooting single pin, I feel like I anchor better when the pin is in the middle of the housing, so if I’m taking long shots I want to have that sight picture. I think of it more like a single pin with one short range cut and one long range.

But what works for me may not work for everyone

Thanks for the info. I’m pretty torn on the decision.

I have three acent verdict sights, I run them all the same
4" dovetail, Three pin revenge head. green red green.
25-35 -45 ...i float my middle pin.

with my set up i am 5 above and below when i float my pin after 50.

Sounds like a nice setup where you can still utilize your other pins after dialing. I am leaning towards a 3 pin GRG .19, .19, .10.

Is the revenge head worth the extra $90?

No. If i had to do it again i would get the head that has the mannual adjust individual pin and the mico adjust gang adjustment.
Really other then setting the Initial pin gaps all you ever do after that is really tweak the gang micro adjust.
If that makes sense to you

What is the gang adjust? Move all the pins at once?

Which head does that? They have the stock, widowmaker, backdraft, and revenge.

What don't you like about the individual pin micro adjust?

The revenge has both individual pin micro adjust and gang micro adjust that moves the entire sight housing.

I dont dislike the individual pin mico adjust so much as i dont really use it. I find after my gaps are set i just use move the housing to make fine adjustments.
If the extra 100 isnt an issue which for me it wasnt its nice to have but something i think most guys can live without and not miss it.

I am not sure the name of the head that just has the gang mico adjustment, but i know they make it.

Thanks I talked to my Scheels bow guy and he basically confirmed what you said. The micro adjust is not a must need feature and definitely isn't worth $100.

Yes, however get the head that has the gang micro adjustment. That’s definitely worth it. If nothing else it’s great for your first pin set. It is also a time saver when you travel. You may find you need to click in your sight if travel to different localities. Temp/ elevation ect ect .... a couple click when your there and you set.

In your first set up ...the first pin you set should be your center pin. Manually center it in the housing. Sight it in using the micro adjust of the entire housing and when your set all you have to do is set the upper and lower pin for elevation.

Not an accent verdict but I swapped from a 5-pin fixed to an axcel accutouch 3 pin slider this season for whitetail hunting back east. I muffed a couple of shots trying to dial in distances. User error but still a bummer.

I added two pins post season to go back to 5 total. I still can slide for long shots but have distances out to 60 yards without giving myself a chance to screw up, which covers 99% of my hunting now and for the foreseeable future. I will trade a little clutter for surety and Still keep the capability to stretch out for the long shots for training and practice.
