Mavens 6x30 vs meopta 6x32

Good morning and hello to rokslide I've been a long time follower but this is my first time posting. Just recently misplaced my 8x32 meoptas, or some one wanted them and decided to take them. That being said I'm in search of a new pair. I absolutely loved my meoptas. They were bought in 2010. I love 8x. The field of view was awesome. My one only complaint was the slight yellowish tint. Especially on snow.

That being said, I looking for any opinions on my next pair of 8x ....or 6x.

That leads to my next question. Has anyone had any experience with mavens 8x. Or there 6x?

Are these comparable to the meoptas or should I just buy meoptas again? To my eyes the meoptas were every bit as good as some other big name bios. I actually really preferred then over some Swarovski 8x32 els.
That said. I have no experience with mavens. What are you thoughts. Stick to euro glass?

Don't think Meopta makes a 6x anymore. I just got some Kowa 6.5x32's for truck binos, crazy wide FOV.

They have some softness toward the edges but the FOV is pretty tough to beat. Really good light transmission too.

Last year I used them as a chest bino with a 12x50 in my pack. Sweet combo. They are an excellent option for deep woods or still-hunting where you need to one-hand your binos a lot.

Where and how are you using them?

I just got some Maven B2 9x45s and I plan to pair them with some B3 8x30s. Similar situation...may bring both on hunts. Have B2s in my pack and B3s on my chest. Or I’ll pick and choose which I want for a specific area I’m hunting. I’m in WI and don’t have need for major magnification. Mostly spot/stalk and saddle hunting.

Fully agree. I have a pair too and it has become my go to glass. They are not perfect but the wide field and super sharp sweet spot along with great depth of field make it so easy to use. I also pair it with a 12x50 when needed.
I read that it achieves 90% light Tranmission which puts it close to a lot of alpha glass for a fraction of the price. It beats Meopta as well

The yellowish tiny was preHD. I absolutely love the meopya but they are the 10x42. I would consider the kowa also. No experience from maven but get good review. I think cameraland was thinking the kowas at 899...

Matt, I could be wrong but the 8x aren't available in hd????

i haven't used the meopta 6x but if the maven is anything like my 8x30 then you likely won't be disappointed. it's great glass for the money

I really like the maven 6x30s. They are super bright with a good center sweet spot. Lightweight and stable with one hand. Good low light performance. They have become my go to turkey/small game/ truck glass. Before I purchased them I looked through the kowa genesis 8x32, viper 6x30 and some pre hd leupolds. The mavens are better. I also looked at the EL 8x32 and those were stupid good....if you got the nickels check those out. When day dreaming... if ever go from my EL 12s to some SLC 15s, id probably pair them with 8x32 ELs...

You feel the mavens were nicer than the kowas? This is interesting because that was another optic I was looking at. The one thing I don't like about the EL is the field flattening image

So I looked at a couple kowas, the 8x32 genesis and the BD II 6.5x32. The 6.5s were unfortunately very cheap feeling with a grainy focus knob, debris inside both tubes (in between lenses looking into the objective) and even though the clarity was great in the middle of the kowas, there is a substantial decline of clarity and increase in chromatic aberration in the outer 75% of the field of view. I almost pulled the trigger on the 8s as they were very nice but the larger fov of the maven 6x30 led me to the mavens.

Better than the Kowa Genny 8X32s, huh? Wow, that's a hell of an endorsement, since I regard my Gennys as some phenomenal glass. Now I'm really going to have to get serious about putting some time behind a pair of Maven 6X30s. I've been thinking about a pair for NE stillhunting deer, for awhile now, anyway. Hoping the depth of field is as good as some have stated. They're going to have to punch pretty hard to equal or beat the Gennys, but even if they're close, they will be spectacular.

The maven 6x30 are nice but I like my Kowa 6x32 better

thr Kowa has better FOV, AFOV, sharper in the center, easy on the eyes, and perform better at night.Dramatically better. I can see the North American nebula which I can’t in the Mavens

the Maven have a slight smaller form factor, much better edge to edge clarity, and slightly warmer tone or saturated colors in the daytime

Kowa BD ll XD are made in China. Given the option, I don't by goods manufactured in China. My choice, others might feel differently.

In a perfect world, Kowa would offer a Genesis 6X30/32 from Japan.
