What’s everyone’s thoughts on the Maven RS1? I’ve heard nothing but good about their binos but I can’t find much info from other hunters on the scopes

i’m a huge fan. going on it’s second season this year. tracked perfect on a box test and unbeatable glass for the price.

Have you read this yet?

Which reticle are you running? I thought the MOA looked busy but the SHR doesnt have windage subtentions(aside from the width of the elevation subtention width)

Yeah it does. I’m just hung up between it and the Leupold VX-5. I wish you could demo scopes like you can binos.

The RS1 is a really nice scope that checks a lot of boxes. The eye box is awesome, and it is super easy to get behind. The glass is excellent. I can't imagine anybody being disappointed with one. They've been out for a year now and I've yet to see a used one for sale.

My hang up, and it’s kind of a silly one, is I winder if I’ll miss 18X more than I appreciate the 2.5X on the lower end. I’ll be running it on a 338-378 that I have been running a non-HD VX6 3-18X44 on for the last couple years. I sold it and thought I’d try a big old absurd Mark 5 5-25X56 and that just wasn’t going to work. So I sold it and now can’t decide if I want to go back the Leupold or try out the Maven. I have a spotting scope and a pair of binoculars from Maven and really like them and the value. I’m leaning toward the Maven as of now.

I get ya, I'm a guy that likes magnification. It's why I settled on an AMG for my 7mag. The Maven RS1 went on my wife's tikka 6.5 creedmoor. It's the most fun easy, forgiving, accurate shooting rifle I've ever shot. The Maven RS1 is a huge part of why it is the way it is. Thing is that rifle probably won't be killing much past 500-600 yds. so that mag range is really fine for me and more importantly my wife. If I was you I'd probably want more on the rig you have too. I heard Maven might be coming out with a big brother to the RS1. If Maven made a 4-20×50 and was as good on the eye as the RS1, it would probably be on my 7mag. All that said, the new NX8 might fit the bill too, they sure look impressive on paper.

I have the old NX8 on a Montana Rifle Company V2 in .375 H&H. It’s a pretty sweet setup.
