The latter, but I don't remember anything remarkable about it in low light/timber.

The inner portions of the RS1.2 are thicker (.1 vs .07), but the outer right/left/top post of the SWFA reticle is thicker (.4 vs 1.2)

I do have some of the fixed SWFAs and I am pretty certain the 6x has the same reticle sub tensions as the 3-9x. I haven't run across anyone who has used it and complained about the reticle being hard to see.
I was wrong. I could have sworn the 6X was .06, but it is .07.

Here is a link to an old Optics Talk thread that has all the SWFA reticle measurements:

SWFA reticle subtensions.

One of the scope tests should be leaning against a tailgate or tree and tipping it over onto packed ground. I seem to inadvertently do this rather frequently.
Or the it-bounced-out-of-rifle-holder-on-the-quad's-handlebars-onto-a-rock test that I repeat at an embarrassingly frequent interval here in the Ozarks.

I got my RS1.2 yesterday and lined it up with my 2.5-15 Credo and 3-15 VX5. Optically the Maven was the clear winner the VX a close second the Credo is pretty cloudy at 15x. The turrets crispness went in the same order the Maven was very crisp the VX was second but I do like the lock button, the Credo felt mushy in comparison. Personally I prefer the reticles of the other two, just less busy but I know some like and use them. I will be able to compare them better later when I get them to the range but so far am very impressed with the RS1.2. I'm half tempted to buy an SHV so I can compare it with the others.
