I won a pair of the B4s in 15x56 this fall, so I wanted to give a shout out to the guys from Maven. This is not a "scientific" review, more of a push for anyone on the fence towards a pair of higher magnification binos and this pair in particular.

I used them on a rifle hunt in SE Montana where we would look over miles of prairie and sage brush. They were amazing, I had them mounted on a tripod and I basically gave up on my spotting scope because I was able to cover more country with these. One afternoon I accidentally left my Maven 9x45 B2s back at camp and I steadied them on a pair of shooting sticks while we hiked(I had already shot my deer and didn't have to worry about carrying a rifle). I was spotting a ton of bedded deer and groups of deer from 1-2 miles away.

Highlights:
Fit and Finish is Fantastic
Smooth focus adjustment
Nice lens covers
Open bridge design makes them easy to carry
Never felt my eyes strain
Amazing in low light

Here are some pics of them in action. I spotted that 4 point from a mile and a half with 30 minutes of light left and made it across the sage in time to get a shot.

Were you able to compare them against any other glass? I would be really interested to hear how they stacked up to something more of us may be able to look through.

Thank!

Thanks for the review! Really interested in these, and going back and forth between the B4 15x and a S1 scope. At what distance do you think you'd be able to judge sheep with the B4? The scope would undoubtedly be better for this purpose, but with the binoculars useful for so many additional things, and nearly a pound lighter, I think they may be the better "overall" value.

I wasn't able to compare them against any other 15x binos, but we had my friend's 65mm Swarovski scope and i didn't notice a step down in clarity or brightness at low light. I know that's a poor comparison.

I've never judged sheep, but at a half mile I could judge a buck very well. Out to a mile I could tell whether it was a dink or a mature buck.
