Maven B1.2 Reviews?

Anyone have first hand experience with these since the new edition came out? FOV numbers look impressive.

Wondering how they would compare to others in the $1k range- Conquest HD, Trinovid, Razor HD/UHD, BX-5.

May or may not be worth the hassle of the demo program.

I compared them against the BX-5 and Trinovids and to me the brightness and edge to edge clarity is a bit better. The field of view though, is where its pretty damn amazing. Between those 3, and my BX4s, the B1.2 makes the other looks like tunnel vision in comparison. Very noticeable. The FOV of the others didnt feel limiting, but once you look through the Mavens, theres no question about the increase. The Trinovids had slightly better color rendition. The build quality is also pretty impressive - they feel like a quality set of binos, to the point I thought they were heavier than spec, but I weighed them and they are true to the 26.8.

I got the 8x and 10x to see which I preferred, and I have no preference between the 2. Im pretty set on finding a pair of 10x42 SLCs, so itll probably be the 10s I sell. Id give them a try.

Still happy with your b1.2s? Debating on 8x vs 10x and on the b.2 9xs

Yeah, I did end up selling the B1.2 10s to buy a pair of SLC 10s right after I made that post. So Ive had both for over a year now. Ive always preferreed 10s. But in the past year I probably carried the B1.2s 8's 80% of the time. 8s seem to be the wheelhouse for the B1.2s. Definitely still happy with them.

I have the B1.2 10 x and B2 9x. I like both but 90% of the time I'm using the B1.2's, smaller, lighter and no real difference in view quality.

How do the Mavens compare to the Swaro?

Only thing I really notice is the Swaros greens/yellows pop a bit more and you might get a few more minutes at dusk. Hindsight, I mightve kept the B1.2 10s and saved the $ difference it cost me to go up to the SLCs.
