Hello all. I'm going to be purchasing my first quality optic and have come to a crossroad. It will be primarily for western hunting but not planning to do hours of glassing with this piece. I like the size and style of the 42 but I like the little bit better low light performance of the 45 if I'm reading the data sheets correct. Probably not a wrong choice with either option. Just looking for more insight to what might be better suited for the elk woods.

Just went through this myself. I bought the 9x45’s and can say I don’t feel under glasses in the least. FOV is solid and glass is a huge step up over my old Japanese made Razor HD’s. I ran 12x50’s and for once I don’t think I’m going to miss the extra mag.

I will also mention that I was a bit surprised at just how dang big the 9x45’s are physically. They’re a hefty bino and they’re not small by any means.

I went with the 9x45 from my understanding the b series are better glass. I haven't had them out west yet I bought them after Christmas but have looked through them on my place and they are very clear early and late. I called and talked to them and they recommend the 9x45 is what the guy I talked to said he had.

I ordered a pair of the b.2 9x45 and got them in this week. They seem to be a huge step up from my diamondbacks. The brightness and clarity is noticeably better. I went back and forth between the 9x and the 11x but I don't think I'll regret my decision. Like a previous poster said, they are big. I haven't checked to see if they'll fit in my bino harness. I hope I won't be in the market for a new one.

I went with the 9x B2s from 8x and 10x Diamondbacks, couldn’t be happier. I think the 9x is the perfect magnification for free handing and it’s certainly no slouch off a tripod. Glass is fantastic and the larger 45mm does very well in low light conditions.

With all the love for the B2s I ordered a demo pair of the 9x over the weekend, weight and size be damned. I figure I can give them a try, return them, and get a custom pair yet before CO 1st rifle.

Day 1 and the only downside is not with the bino, but my current AGC harness. Just too small for this glass. Have already looked pretty hard at the Adak. Pricey but whatever, long life product. The binos are great!

I had the same problem with my acg I went with the slightly bigger size and they fit great
