Im having trouble finding a suitable stock for a commercial large ring mauser Im re-doing and turning into a walk around gun. I prefer synthetic, no cheekpiece on stock (straight comb), light, less tham 300 dollar custom.
So far the only 2 that Im even considering are the hogue pillar bed overmold stock at 2.2 lbs and a Bell amd Carlson Varmint/Tactical at 2.5 or so. They used to be for sale everywhere now I cant find amything decent to put on a rifle.
Im leaning towards the hogue, Ill obviously bed it and will probably put on a lightweight scope. I was hoping to find something under 2 pounds. Everyone elses stock have a cheekpiece and as a lefty I cant stand it. I know it doesnt make much sense for a lefty shooting a right handed mauser but Ive trained myself pretty well the right handed guns.

I was looking at the MPI stocks website the other day and thought I saw some Mauser options. Also wildcat composites I believe. Hope it helps!

Wildcat all the way.
I have another one for a large ring commercial FN M98 that should be here by the 20th. Give Stuart a call and tell him what you are looking for.

Great product and service.
