Mathews Arc

Look pretty decent, I wish more companies would do like prime and make their longer ATA bows have the shorter brace height. I get that they probably do it for the long draw guys but if I'm giving up forgiveness on the ata I don't also want to give it up with a short brace

I don't follow what you're saying? The ARC 30 is a shorter A2A and BH, which leads to being less forgiving than a longer ATA and BH, which the ARC 34 has both of?

Really doesn’t do it for me. I’ve got an original lift 29.5. I’m not going to upgrade (regardless of brand) unless it has timing adjustment, and some type of limbshift adjustment. Which at this point is just Darton, and Bowtech I believe.

I want the long ata and short brace, I don't want short and short, the shorter bows are already harder to shoot why put a short brace on them to add to that

Decreased brace height increases speed. I assume the manufacturers’ logic is that shooters with shorter draw lengths are more likely to choose a shorter ATA bow and will want all the speed they can get since their short DL starts them out at a disadvantage speed-wise. Longer DL shooters are in the opposite situation: they’re starting out with a speed advantage so increasing brace height and shaving a little speed doesn’t really matter to them.

They look nice, but until they put some sort of adjustable stop on their bows, I don't think I will buy another Mathews. I shoot my Lift 33 fine, but that has been on thing that has really frustrated me about that bow are their bows having a short valley, and the inability to tweak it easily by shifting a stop.

Here's an actual informational video on it. Nothing to make me want to upgrade my v3x.

There is something in the video about an adjustment on the limbs.
unless it has timing adjustment, and some type of limbshift adjustment.
Also something about the draw cycle.

I like it, not a Mathews guy either, have not owned one in years but if you do not like their bows the past several years I don't know what you are looking for!

I am not in the market for a new bow, but I look forward to shooting one when a friend buys it!

I don't know if I follow?

You can adjust timing if you need to with the SAS system. Use the cord to add or remove cable twists, or spacers and no worry of any additional hardware on your cam coming loose.

You can control cam lean with the limbshift.

I can understand not liking those systems, however you can do what you are asking for without a press.

Ahh ok, admittedly I'm not up to speed on Prime's recent releases so I went to check it out. That's actually cool they offer each bow with either a 6" or 7" BH. The biggest issue I've ever had with a short BH was puffy jackets getting in the way. Personally, I think BH is a bit overrated until your draw length gets out there and the powerstroke gets beyond 24".

actually up until this year it was more like

34 inch bow 6" brace

32 inch bow 6.5" brace

30 inch bow 7" brace

this is the first year they've done the 2 different brace heights

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that ability with the stay afield system. I’ve never messed with that before. Thanks for bringing that up

Edit- did a little research. Definitely not the most convenient thing, but for how rarely timing needs to be adjusted, probably not the end of the world. Still probably not going to pull the trigger on the ARC tho

Not with Matthews. Far as I can recall V3, V3x, Lift, and lift X all had shorter braces on the short model and longer on the longer ATA bow. Typically 6" on short bow and 6.5 on longer ATA, just like the Arc.

As a guy who's typically avoided the short ATA bows, im used to seeing 6.5-7" brace heights. My PSE carbon air 34 was longer brace than the shorter ATA options too.

Yeah I'm talking about prime
