Have you shot one? (I haven't) I ask, because everyone is so hyped up about how there is "no bow" at the shot and that it's 100% dead in the hand, that if they close their eyes they can't even tell the bow fired, etc. Sounds a little cult-like like the guys that shoot Oneidas and you're the first guy I've read that said it's not that smooth...you know....more like a normal bow. Just curious. I guess I'm just happy to hear someone say the King has no clothes...if in fact he has no clothes. If I ever get to shoot one, I will for sure.

I've shot and built several. They are smooth, don't get me wrong, but not what everyone hypes them up to be. I would rather shoot an Elite energy which draws better (in my opinion) and be shooting 15 fps faster.

I shot the no-cam last year at 2 different places where they had the reps in showing them off. I could not stand the draw cycle, it just didn't feel right and I would not call it smooth. It had a Solid back wall and It was quite but boy did it feel slow, I mean slow... and hit with no authority. I used to shoot Mathews bows, from the solo cam to the MR series but for at least the last 4 years they have been going backwards, and all in an effort to look innovative rather than being solid, if that makes any sense.

Interesting. A very good friend of mind has one and loves it. And he's an experienced guy, so I don't question that they're decent, shootable bows. But to read the hordes online and the zeal with which many of them speak of the bow, you'd think that it's there's no need to build new bows anymore since archery perfection has been achieved. I always just kinda thought to myself it was too good to be true...I'm glad I wasn't crazy and that it's an ordinary bow like any other ordinary bow out there.

Now I really want to shoot one for myself.

Because you hear guys say that PSE's or Bowtech's explode, Hoyts are too expensive or have a crappy finish, etc. There's as many detractors as there are fan boys. For the No-Cam it seems unanimous how wonderful a bow it is, other than some guys admit that it isn't the fastest bow on the market. This thread is literally the first place I've seen someone say it's not as smooth as everyone says it is.

The new bow game is a racket, everybody's new bow is so much better, but to be honest I haven't noticed a real significant change since the alphamax. They're all about the same speed, they all shoot pretty well. The really fast ones still tend to have really short bh and shitty draw cycles.

I tend to shoot the new ones every year, I'll stick to shooting 3 year old bows that I let someone else take a bath on.
