Marlin 45-70 value

Hey guys, I’m looking for a little help. I have a Marlin 1895gbl in 45-70 I’m going to sell. I’m trying to figure out it’s actual value. Seems like values are all over the place right now. I believe it was produced shortly after the Remington acquisition of Marlin. I have a cheap Nikon scope on it. It’s in good condition. Thanks for any help.

If its not JM stamped its worth whatever the going rate is minus wear and tear, If it has the JM stamp its worth much more. I assume that based the the time of purchase yours is not.

Is the "JM stamp" part of the serial number?

You have a Remlin (Remington made Marlin). it's has "Ilion, New York" stamped on the barrel. That's the Remington plant.
Another way to tell: REP stamped on the barrel Or your serial# begins with MR****** then it's a Remlin.

The original Marlin plant was in CT.

JM is a proof mark (stamped on the barrel). Not in the serial#.

Serial number starts with MR. I was fairly certain it was post Remington acquisition. The values I’ve found vary widely. I’m just look for a fair value. No way is it a $1400 gun & I’ve seen that price. I just want to be fair in price. I have 5.5 boxes of Buffalo bore ammo to sell with it if buyer wants as well

It’s worth what someone wants to pay. I bought one recently for $650. More than I felt it was worth but with the going rate I think I got a deal.

That looks like a Trapper version with a 16.5 “ barrel. I have 2, one stainless Trapper and a custom takedown with the longer barrel. If I were in the market, I’d think $850 to $950 would be a fair price with the scope.
