So I’m looking to get into a Manners LRH with the mini chassis. I have 2 KRG Bravos already but am looking for an “upgrade” in several areas leading to s couple question for anyone who has experience with both

1) What is the weight of the Manners with mini chassis and something like a Hawkins M5 dbm? Trying to get a fair comparison to the Bravo as is

2) is the palm swell smaller than the Bravo. What about the distance to trigger? I think the Bravo’s grip is good but would like something a bit smaller for comfort. I like the trigger reach of the bravo and wouldn’t want it to be longer if possible.

3) Are the lead times still really long. Would hope to have one before the fall if possible

Another consideration is the pro hunter. My only hesitation there is the lack of adjustable cheek riser. I tend to favor taller rings for comfort (neck) while keeping the butt of the stock lower in the shoulder.

You’re looking at 33 ounces for the LRH w/ mini-chassis and another 5-7 ounces for the Hawkins M5 dbm without mag. The pall swell is generous and very comfortable for me personally, but of course this is subjective. I don’t have any personal experience with the bravo to compare and contrast. I believe the lead times are still close to year. However, I see them pop up quite often in the classifieds here and on the Manners website.

Are you looking for a short action or long?

I’ve purchased 3 manners stocks from the battalion.com - short action are out of stock at the moment, but you can set an email notification. They give you free bottom metal as well.

Looking for SA. Altus is out of stock. Checked Battalion also but need to sign up on their email.

Anyone have first hand experience (no pun intended) between the grip on this and a bravo?

I’m ok with the bravo but would prefer a smaller palm swell. Also my kids are starting to be of age to want to hunt and shoot and am thinking they would like it better also

I have a Manners LRH w/mini chassis and like it. No experience with the Bravo but just on a quick glance it looks like the KRG will be .5-.75lbs heavier.

Depends if you are hunting with the rifle or shooting Comps.

Hawkins weights listed below.
For S/A M5 DBM looks like 5oz.

It’ll be mostly for hunting. I don’t do comps but like to go to the range when possible. .5 to .75 lbs is a good weight savings in my book when carrying a rifle around.

I really like the Bravo for the price but I’m at the point that I’d be willing to spend extra for a more refined stock/chassis to get some weight savings and better ergos. This would be much easier if I could get my hands on one to try it out. Also, they look really good too.

I’d be putting an Origin in this. Any problems with the fit in the 700sa? Also use a hunts recoil lug and don’t want to have to do any bedding of the action, hence the whole point of the mini chassis

I have Rem 700s in mine and the Origin is a 700 clone. I have larger aftermarket recoil lugs in mine with no issues. The Hunts lug shouldn't be an issue. I am slowly switching my rifles over to stocks that don't need to be bedded and are more modular, same with my rifles, just had an Origin built and it is an awesome rifle. The Origin is currently in a Stockys VG2 Stock which has similar Ergos to the Manners vertical grip stocks, just not quite as nice, but are half the price.

I have two mini chassis S/A Pro Hunters and one TCS all with un-bedded Rem 700 clones in them and all 3 are incredibly accurate rifles. Built a rifle for a friend on a L/A LRH mini chassis with no bedding and it is also very accurate.

How does the stocky’s compare to a manners? Just checked them out and they claim to be stronger?
