Not true. Manners doesn’t provide pillars and says they are unnecessary - give them a call. There has been a lot written about pillars being a product of times gone by in wood stocks that expand and contract with temp and moisture variation. Pillars provided that stability in variable conditions. Carbon and polymer don’t experience the same temp/humidity sensitivity.
Pillars continue to be used because people expect it, not because it’s necessary.

"If you choose a stock without a mini chassis, you must have it glass bedded with pillars. At minimum, the pillars must be installed and the lug area bedded. The pillars prevent stock crush over time, keeping the torque values consistent."

Gunsmithing - Manners stock need pillars?

I'm ordering an Eh1 from manners for my tikka t3. I'm used to having pillars in all my stocks but the guy at manners said I don't need pillars for the Tikka. Wanted to get some additional opinions before pressing the go button. Is it ok not to run pillars in a carbon fiber stock for the tikka?

LRI and Coffin Gunsmithing disagree. No corners were cut with this. If you want to debate the necessity of pillars, go to the firearms section and quit high jacking my classifieds post.
