Making the Most of Two Free Days Near Anchorage, AK?

I spent the entire month of July traveling in Alaska.

As others have said, skip Denali.

The Kenai peninsula is amazing. That’s where I would spend my time if I was only there for 2 days.

Denali, is remarkably unremarkable.

It’s weird I have a very fond memory of it from the mid 90s that I can’t seem to shake. I’m sure like everything else, the experience has changed.

Denali’s a pretty cool place. My guess is most people who are unimpressed with it just drove in to the gate or road a tour bus and never stepped foot off of it. But if you only have a day it nots worth the drive because you won’t have the time to do anything cool. It’s like 8 hours of driving just to get to the entrance.

The Denali highway is awesome. Just too bad all the trash in Anchorage and Wasilla know about it.
